The history of The Travelers Rest dates back
to the 1800's. Located on Route 100, at the time a
main thoroughfare, it was a welcome coach stop for weary travelers. As the
surrounding areas developed The
Travelers Rest has continued to offer a unique dining experience sought by
our guests. The original restaurant as it was known in the early years
remains facing Route 100. In order to achieve a more tranquil atmosphere
the subsequent dining and banquet rooms, were built with fireplaces facing
the Gardens, Waterfall and Stream.
The Legacy of The Travelers Rest
tradition guides the ideals by which management operates today. We
will always strive to provide food, service and ambience to satisfy the
most discerning tastes. We are honored by the fact that our success was
made possible through the continued patronage of our guests who
have shared their experiences with others. It is to those patrons of
yesteryear and valued guests of today that we dedicate our product and
service.
